Modern Technique and Portraiture with Carolina Zanelli

Italian artist, Carolina Zanelli, leads students through a 4-day workshop on creating mosaics (including portraiture) in a modern style. Students will create a project focusing on a detail area of a face. Participants will then be able to take the skills learned from the project back to their studios and incorporate them into their own larger works—from representational to abstract to an entire portrait.

Designed for intermediate to advanced students, participants should be familiar with smalti, direct method, andamento and be comfortable with the hammer & hardie.

Pre-work will be sent to registrants prior to the workshop. Use of tools and materials during class is included.

All materials are included.

Prerequisite: Mosaic I, Hammer & Hardie Workshop (or by permission).
