Advanced Mosaic Nuances and Techniques with Sue Giannotti - NEW
For intermediate to advanced-level mosaic artists who want to further their mosaic repertoire, this intense 4-day workshop will challenge you to expand your studio language skills in the understanding, use, and control of different materials, andamenti and visual sounds.
We will explore when and how to manipulate and incorporate different sizes of tesserae, along with using andamento alternatives and color and value techniques. In addition to class-wide exercises, lectures, discussions and critiques, students will begin work on a mosaic of their own. This workshop is for artists looking to push their skills to the next level and is perfect for abstract work as well as representational mosaics.
Prerequisites: Design Fundamentals, Multi-day andamento workshop, Hammer and Hardie, Mosaic I and II, or with instructor permission.
In addition, students should be highly comfortable and proficient with the hammer and hardie and as well as with using the direct method of working.
