Mosaic Portraiture: Studies in Representation with Carolina Zanelli
Portraiture can be a technical challenge for any artist, and this workshop, led by Italian artist Carolina Zanelli, will give you some great approaches to learning how to make a likeness in mosaic. During this workshop, students will create two small mosaic works as studies in portraiture. The first project will focus on light and shade, working with two colors to explore the contrast between light and dark. In the second workshop project, students will explore different possibilities in the contours using andamenti in mosaic using either smalti or marble to study one or more details of the subject. This workshop is a must for any artist wanting to create a likeness or representation in mosaic.

All materials are included.
