Design Fundamentals with Sue Giannotti
Are you ready for design boot camp to help you improve the visual impact of your mosaics? Artist Sue Giannotti offers a 3-day intensive workshop for you to learn the principles and elements of art to improve your mosaic designs. With numerous hands-on exercises, students learn about value, color and andamento, fundamental design elements and principles (e.g. focal point, repetition), material selection and planning, and how to work the cartoon. While this workshop is especially helpful for representational work, the concepts apply to all types of mosaics. Formatted for those with little or no formal art education, participants can range from beginners to advanced mosaic artists. Instead of making a mosaic during the course, students create a hands-on book with project concepts developed from class exercises and leave with that book, beginning supplies, and their own mosaic-ready cartoon incorporating concepts from the course. The instructor will contact all registered participants with details on pre-class preparation.
All materials are included. No prerequisite.
When registering for classes at CMS, please be aware of our refund and cancellation policy.
A version of this workshop is sometimes offered as an online course.
