Sublime Patterns in Mosaic with Toyoharu Kii

$550.00

Japanese Artist Toyoharu Kii returns to CMS for a new, 3-day workshop; students will explore the multitude of patterns and textures for experimentation within mosaic compositions. Students will use white stone to create variations of tesserae in experimental compositions using Kii’s specialized studio method.  A limited palette can provide an artist ample opportunities to discover movement, and using patterns as an expressive approach is integral to this mosaic process. Kii will first lead students to create designs and sketches that will be used as plans to find original ideas and compositions for play and pattern work in mosaics. This is a rare opportunity to experience working with a renowned contemporary master. Space is limited. The workshop includes all materials, the use of tools, and any handouts or supplemental materials.

All materials are included. Prerequisites: Hammer & Hardie Workshop (or by permission).

When registering for classes at CMS, please be aware of our refund and cancellation policy.
