Beginning Mosaic As an Expressive Art Form with Dugald MacInnes

$1,000.00

Internationally acclaimed Scottish artist Dugald MacInnes is well known for his poetic use of stone and natural materials. His work communicates his passion for geology and archaeology and his love for the Scottish landscape.  Dugald returns to CMS to offer this exclusive and in-demand workshop opportunity for artists working in all media. This transformational workshop will allow students to explore and exploit personal passions and interests by “delving beneath naturalistic representation to creatively seek out and discover the very essence of what it is that visually excites them”. Students employ techniques by working principally with stone in tandem with a basic understanding of the development of modern art, referencing the role of visual elements that convey and express our thoughts and feelings about our environment. Students learn about stone cutting techniques, cement and mortar processes.

All materials are included. Prerequisite: Hammer & Hardie Workshop (or by permission).

When registering for classes at CMS, please be aware of our refund and cancellation policy.
